To keep in Christ, to stay focused on Him, I believe we have to throw out some things that have been taking that place of Jesus in our lives. I’ve had to do that, in more ways than one. There are so many things that can sneak in and start to slowly take over and sometimes we don’t even know it. Like movies, TV, music and books. But we need to stop and start to throw out some things that are drawing us away from Jesus instead of drawing us closer.
We need things in our lives that are encouraging us to seek God’s Word and not just things that entertain us or make us feel good. If the music we listen to just makes us want to dance wrongly or act wild and not make us want to Praise Jesus, then it needs to go. If that book draws you to sit there reading it for chapters and hours and you only read a few minutes in your Bible, then it needs to go. If what you’re watching makes you want different then what the Bible says, then it needs to go!
THROW IT OUT!!
We need things in our lives to draw us closer to Jesus, to God’s Word, instead of pulling us away!
