Those are 3 of the things that I think of when I think of Queen Esther, and those are the things I’m going to discuss in this article. So, come with me, and let’s explore the valiant qualities of one of the most heroic women of the Bible! Courage. Queen Esther exhibited a lot of courage by going in to the king when she had not been summoned. During that time, if you had not been summoned by the king and you went in to him anyway, you could be condemned to death if the king did not hold out his golden scepter to you. By the grace of God, king Ahasuerus held out his scepter to Queen Esther, thus saving her life. Queen Esther also exhibited a lot of courage by asking the king to a banquet not once, but twice, in order to tell him her request. Her request was that the evil Haman, who had plotted to kill the entire race of the Jews, and had even sent out a decree concerning it, be hung. The king, when he heard of what Haman had done was enraged, and had Haman hung on the gallows that Haman himself had recently prepared for Esther’s adopted father, Mordecai. Determination. Queen Esther exhibited extreme determination in the quest she set out on----saving the Jews from death. She determined that she would be the one to save the Jews, since Mordecai said in chapter 4 verse 14 (NKJV): “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Loyalty. Queen Esther exhibited loyalty to both her adopted father Mordecai and to the Jews by heeding Mordecai’s words. If she had ignored his warning as Mordecai stated in chapter 4:13 “…Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.” Then Haman’s terribly evil plan would have been carried out, or “…deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place…” She also exhibited Loyalty to her people in backing up Mordecai’s letters that announced that the Jewish feast of Purim should be established and celebrated every year, and it still is celebrated by Jews worldwide today. I hope you have enjoyed reading about the qualities of Queen Esther that I find most honorable! I hope you all will take the time to read the account of Esther in your own Bible; it really is an exciting account! God bless you all!
