There’s More: By Beth C. (Managing Editor) So fulfilling. And everything we could every want. He satisfies the longing so. Who does this? What is fulfilling? Jesus Christ. Yes, ladies. A man, family, friends, popularity, doesn’t fulfill us. Only God can do that. I’d like to use an illustration I love from the Bible. Who else loves finding special meanings to verses in God’s word??? I love it! Let’s look at Luke 9:10-17 KJV. And the apostles, when they were returned, told Him all that they had done. And He took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida… And the people, when they knew it, followed Him: and He received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing…And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto Him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place… But He said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people… For they were about five thousand men. And He said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company... And they did so, and made them all sit down…Then He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude… And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. Isn’t that an amazing story? Among 5,00o men (And they didn’t even count women and children) Jesus took five loaves and two fishes and fed all those people. He blessed it and gave to them. And you know what? They were filled! And you know what else? There was more. Ladies, let’s truly receive the fulfilling bread Jesus gives to us. Let’s dive into His word and be fulfilled. Let’s strive towards knowing it’s only in our precious Savior that we CAN be fulfilled. Because if we think some cute boy or some amazing friend will do that, we are so wrong. And are headed straight for banging into a brick wall, a very hard one. I think we girls have the tendency to think that once we meet ‘the one and only’ that he will make us so happy and he will be just perfect and amazing. I have to stop myself from thinking that. Because even when I meet that man God has for me, I won’t be fulfilled in that man. People do not fulfill us. The Creator of life itself does. The one that knows the very number of hairs we have on our head. The God of the universe chooses to love us and give to us abundantly. So abundantly. And nothing can separate us from His abounding love. Jesus died a cruel, painful death so we could live free, so we could have salivation and not be separated from Him. He gave HIMSELF of us. That’s so rich, so full. He died for us!! Hallelujah!! Ladies, doesn’t that sound like fulfillment! I mean really true fulfillment! Let’s partake of His lovely truths, His lovely word. Let choose to keep our focus on Him and His love. Let’s eat of the bread He has given us. And let’s know that Jesus freely gives to us; He doesn’t have to, He freely does. And something amazing, so very amazing, there is always more. And a lot more. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35 KJV

6/4/2017 3 Comments Queen EstherNovember 2016 Issue Queen Esther By: Olivia Bell Queen Esther. What do you think of when you hear her name? Courage? Determination? Loyalty? Those are 3 of the things that I think of when I think of Queen Esther, and those are the things I’m going to discuss in this article. So, come with me, and let’s explore the valiant qualities of one of the most heroic women of the Bible! Courage. Queen Esther exhibited a lot of courage by going in to the king when she had not been summoned. During that time, if you had not been summoned by the king and you went in to him anyway, you could be condemned to death if the king did not hold out his golden scepter to you. By the grace of God, king Ahasuerus held out his scepter to Queen Esther, thus saving her life. Queen Esther also exhibited a lot of courage by asking the king to a banquet not once, but twice, in order to tell him her request. Her request was that the evil Haman, who had plotted to kill the entire race of the Jews, and had even sent out a decree concerning it, be hung. The king, when he heard of what Haman had done was enraged, and had Haman hung on the gallows that Haman himself had recently prepared for Esther’s adopted father, Mordecai. Determination. Queen Esther exhibited extreme determination in the quest she set out on----saving the Jews from death. She determined that she would be the one to save the Jews, since Mordecai said in chapter 4 verse 14 (NKJV): “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Loyalty. Queen Esther exhibited loyalty to both her adopted father Mordecai and to the Jews by heeding Mordecai’s words. If she had ignored his warning as Mordecai stated in chapter 4:13 “…Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.” Then Haman’s terribly evil plan would have been carried out, or “…deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place…” She also exhibited Loyalty to her people in backing up Mordecai’s letters that announced that the Jewish feast of Purim should be established and celebrated every year, and it still is celebrated by Jews worldwide today. I hope you have enjoyed reading about the qualities of Queen Esther that I find most honorable! I hope you all will take the time to read the account of Esther in your own Bible; it really is an exciting account! God bless you all! Isabella has a beautiful heart for the Lord and is so inspiring and encouraging! Ya'll should totally check out her sites! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I thought about the theme of this issue, I felt led to share something I’ve been learning about. In this world, we have crazy identity issues. We’re constantly bombarded with messages about who we are, what we’ve done, and what we will become. We let the world, the people in our lives, and pop culture determine our identity and who we are. We become slaves of their opinions, which turns us into slaves of fear. Fear of what people will really think of us if they knew the true us. Fear of people rejecting or leaving us. Fear of losing our popularity or our Facebook likes. Fear of never measuring up. Because we’ve become slaves to this fear, we’ve allowed their opinions to control everything we do and all of our actions. We let it tell us who we are. But, sister, here’s the good news. You are no longer a slave to that fear. You are no longer a slave to what people think of you. You are no longer a slave to what the world has claimed as your identity. Because you don’t belong to them. There’s a super powerful, popular worship song out right now from Bethel Music titled No Longer Slaves, and in the chorus it says, “I am no longer a slave to fear. I am a child of God.” I love that line so much, because it’s pure truth! Look at these verses… “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” (1 John 3:1) “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” (Romans 8:16-17) “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name.” (John 1:12) And this is where your identity shifts. Before you accepted Jesus into your life, before you let Him change you, yes, you were a slave. You were a slave to fear. You were a slave to sin. You were a slave to people’s opinions. You were a slave to addictions. You were a slave to your past. But not anymore. That is not who you are anymore, my friend. Because Jesus has changed your identity. Praise God. Jesus has walked into your life and He has changed who you are. You are not the same person. You are His child. God is your Father. Your perfect, crazy-loving Father who adores you. This is your new identity. Child of God. You need no other identity to define you. You need no other definition from people or the world for who you are. Your identity is secure in Christ as God’s child. Nothing you do can change that. But, friend, here’s where it can be a little bit difficult. You have a new identity as God’s child. You can’t keep living in your past identity. You are no longer a slave. You can’t keep living as one. If we allow ourselves to live in our past identity while still trying to embrace our new identity in Christ, it’s not gonna work. We have to let go of the past and our old identity in order to embrace the new. And your new identity says that you don’t have to keep living in fear or in bondage. He has set you free. He has broken your chains. Because He loves you more than you know. You are His child. Live in that freedom. I’ve had to do that, in more ways than one. There are so many things that can sneak in and start to slowly take over and sometimes we don’t even know it. Like movies, TV, music and books. But we need to stop and start to throw out some things that are drawing us away from Jesus instead of drawing us closer. We need things in our lives that are encouraging us to seek God’s Word and not just things that entertain us or make us feel good. If the music we listen to just makes us want to dance wrongly or act wild and not make us want to Praise Jesus, then it needs to go. If that book draws you to sit there reading it for chapters and hours and you only read a few minutes in your Bible, then it needs to go. If what you’re watching makes you want different then what the Bible says, then it needs to go! THROW IT OUT!! We need things in our lives to draw us closer to Jesus, to God’s Word, instead of pulling us away! Recommended music: Kim Walker-Smith/Jesus Culture Terry MacAlmon Kari Jobe Colossians 3:2 (KJV) “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Matthew 6:33 (KJV) “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” 5/21/2017 0 Comments Don't Believe The Lies:February of 2017 Issue By: Managing Editor Beth. The devil is lair. Don’t believe the lies he throws at you. The devil tries to destroy us. He tries to stray us away from God. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy… The devil comes to destroy us and torment us. And one of the ways he does this is in our minds. He lies to us about people we care about and about ourselves. He tries to literally destroy us. What we have to remember is that he is a liar. What he tells us is not the truth. He is out to put an end to us. The Bible says that the devil is the lair and the father of it: that is so true. The devil has lied to me so much and I’m sure he’s tried to get at you. Don’t let him. Rebuke him in Jesus’ name and tell him he’s a lair. Tell him to get out of your life. That helped me back when I was struggling so much with my mind, to know that what he was telling me was lies. Don’t let the devil control you with lies. Learn scriptures to quote at him. Really get into reading your Bible. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you… Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:7-8). Spending time with Jesus drives the devil away. Speak to your mind. Speak scriptures to it. We have the power to resist the devil. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19 KJV) The devil will always try to get at us but God has given us the power to overcome him. We also need to watch giving place to the devil. When we give place to him, he comes at us. We need to not give place to him in our words, actions, or what we entertain ourselves with. Again, the devil tries to destroy us. Don’t believe his lies. Turn to Jesus. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10: 10 KJV) |
