There’s More: By Beth C. (Managing Editor) So fulfilling. And everything we could every want. He satisfies the longing so. Who does this? What is fulfilling? Jesus Christ. Yes, ladies. A man, family, friends, popularity, doesn’t fulfill us. Only God can do that. I’d like to use an illustration I love from the Bible. Who else loves finding special meanings to verses in God’s word??? I love it! Let’s look at Luke 9:10-17 KJV. And the apostles, when they were returned, told Him all that they had done. And He took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida… And the people, when they knew it, followed Him: and He received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing…And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto Him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place… But He said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people… For they were about five thousand men. And He said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company... And they did so, and made them all sit down…Then He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude… And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. Isn’t that an amazing story? Among 5,00o men (And they didn’t even count women and children) Jesus took five loaves and two fishes and fed all those people. He blessed it and gave to them. And you know what? They were filled! And you know what else? There was more. Ladies, let’s truly receive the fulfilling bread Jesus gives to us. Let’s dive into His word and be fulfilled. Let’s strive towards knowing it’s only in our precious Savior that we CAN be fulfilled. Because if we think some cute boy or some amazing friend will do that, we are so wrong. And are headed straight for banging into a brick wall, a very hard one. I think we girls have the tendency to think that once we meet ‘the one and only’ that he will make us so happy and he will be just perfect and amazing. I have to stop myself from thinking that. Because even when I meet that man God has for me, I won’t be fulfilled in that man. People do not fulfill us. The Creator of life itself does. The one that knows the very number of hairs we have on our head. The God of the universe chooses to love us and give to us abundantly. So abundantly. And nothing can separate us from His abounding love. Jesus died a cruel, painful death so we could live free, so we could have salivation and not be separated from Him. He gave HIMSELF of us. That’s so rich, so full. He died for us!! Hallelujah!! Ladies, doesn’t that sound like fulfillment! I mean really true fulfillment! Let’s partake of His lovely truths, His lovely word. Let choose to keep our focus on Him and His love. Let’s eat of the bread He has given us. And let’s know that Jesus freely gives to us; He doesn’t have to, He freely does. And something amazing, so very amazing, there is always more. And a lot more. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35 KJV
